Top Dog Mobile Grooming

My name is Maureen Hill and I’ve been in the grooming business for over 36 years.   I’ve always loved animals.  Animals have always been a part of my life.  I’m an artist as well.  Grooming is a combination of both art and animals. I kind of fell into the grooming business – after graduating from high school I attended Center for Creative Studies majoring in Graphic Communication,  while at the same time I worked part time at an exotic pet shop; House of Pets in Garden City, MI.  I loved working with the animals as much as the art.  One day, somebody suggested I combine the two and be a groomer.  In 1982 I took a grooming class at Master School of Dog Grooming in Redford, it only taught the basics.  The turning point was in 1985 when I got a job at Jill’s Klasy Klip in Waterford, that’s where my skills were fine tuned with the proper guidelines for breeds as well as corrective grooming... lots of scissoring and shaping... and how to handle and groom cats.  After seven years at Jill’s I decided to go into business for myself and opened my own grooming salon in Novi of June of 1992 - Top Dog Grooming.  By the end if the first year, I had 4 employees and over 1000 clientel.  I continued to improve my profession by attending grooming seminars and dog shows.  I encouraged my employees who were serious about the business too, to join me in improving their skills.  I maxed out with 7-8 employees and over 2000 clientel!  After 6 years of salon ownership, I decided to call it quits,  but to move on more independently  and go mobile.

June 1998, Top Dog "Mo"bile Grooming. I serviced the Milford and surrounding areas. Mobile grooming is a specialized grooming and I enjoy working on the pets completely - from start to finish... I'm 100% responsible for your pet. It's more personnalized.  I moved to the Brighton area in November 2006, and I NOW service the Brighton, Highland, some of Howell, Hartland, some South Lyon, New Hudson,  Hamburg
